An Ethiopian eVisa is the fastest and easiest way of obtaining a visa for Ethiopia because travelers can submit their application and supporting documents online. Once the application is approved, travelers receive their eVisa confirmation electronically. A valid visa is required to board the flight. If the visa is expired or doesn’t match the traveler’s passport information, travelers will not be able to board their flight. Only travelers born in Ethiopia with an Ethiopian Origin ID Card can obtain a visa on arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (ADD). This also applies to travelers under the age of 16 accompanying travelers born in Ethiopia with an Ethiopian Origin ID Card. This eVisa requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers: -Travelers who are transiting through Addis Ababa Bole International Airport and staying within the airport transit area for a maximum of 8 hours.
