Visa may be required
Travellers may need a visa to visit Japan for Business or Tourism. Indonesian nationals possessing an ePassport in compliance with ICAO standards can register their passport at diplomatic missions of Japan in Indonesia (the embassy or consulate) prior to their departure to Japan to obtain a visa waiver registration certificate. If approved, travellers will receive a visa waiver registration certificate which allows nationals of Indonesia to travel to Japan for a maximum stay of 15 days for Business or Tourism. Indonesian nationals who do not possess an ePassport, or travellers who wish to stay in Japan for more than 15 days, need to obtain a visa. The visa is typically a stamp or sticker added to the passport. Travellers must obtain this visa from a local embassy, consulate or visa center before travelling.
