Travellers need a visa to visit Puerto Rico. Beginning June 9, 2025, the United States suspended new visa issuance for immigrant, tourist, business, and student visas. Beginning January 1, 2026, the suspension expands to most visa types, with limited exceptions. The suspension does not affect: -United States permanent residents (green card holders); -Travellers with valid visas issued before the applicable effective date; -Travellers in the United States on the applicable effective date; -Certain visa categories, including diplomatic and special immigrant visas.
