Electronic travel authorization
Travellers need a travel authorization to visit Sri Lanka for Tourism or Business. Visa-exempt visitors entering Sri Lanka must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Travellers can submit the eTA application online. Once the application is approved, travellers receive their eTA confirmation electronically. If travellers receive a new passport, they must apply for a new eTA.

Visa on arrival is available until October 15 2025
Travellers need a visa to visit Sri Lanka for Business or Tourism. Travellers can get a visa on arrival in Sri Lanka at the port of entry of Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) until October 14, 2025. From October 15, 2025, travellers must have a valid Electronic travel authorization (eTA) before arrival.
