Travelers need a visa to visit Laos for Tourism for more than 15 days. Travelers do not need a visa if staying for 15 days or less beginning July 1, 2024. The 15-day visa exemption is limited to travelers visiting Laos for the first time. Returning visitors to Laos are not visa-exempt. Travelers can get a visa on arrival in Laos at the port of entry, such as an international airport or border crossing. Travelers must have 2 passport photos taken a maximum of 6 months before arrival.
