Visa options for New Zealand (2)
Electronic travel authorization may be available with conditions
Travelers need a visa to visit New Zealand for Business or Tourism. Travelers who are Australian permanent residents, or cruise ship passengers, or transiting through Auckland International Airport, are eligible for an Electronic Travel Authorization. Travelers who are flying into New Zealand to join a cruise must have a paper or embassy visa. Travelers passing through another New Zealand airport are not in transit, as there is no transit area at these airports. To enter New Zealand, travelers must obtain either a Visitor Visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization. Beginning November 1, 2025, travelers who hold an Australian visitor, work, student, or family may also be eligible for a New Zealand eTA when traveling from Australia.
