Electronic travel authorization is required from 2 April 2025
Travelers need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to visit United Kingdom from 2 April 2025 onwards for Tourism, Business, or Transit. Travelers don’t require an eTA if visiting United Kingdom before 2 April 2025. Beginning 5 March 2025, travelers can submit an eTA application online. Once the application is approved, travelers receive their eTA confirmation electronically. An eTA is electronically linked to a passport and valid for up to 2 years for multiple entries. If travelers receive a new passport, they must apply for a new eTA.
